1. Order It Online (for planners)
If you like having everything ready before you travel, you can order your Opal card online. It gets delivered straight to your Aussie address just top it up and you’re ready to go.
2. Grab One In-Store (the fastest option)
Already in Sydney? Just walk into a newsagent, supermarket, post office or even a 7-Eleven. Ask for an Adult Opal card, load a bit of credit, and you can start travelling instantly.
3. Pick It Up at a Service Centre
Transport Customer Service Centres and Service NSW locations also offer Opal cards. Perfect if you want help or have questions while getting your card.
4. No Card? No Problem.
Tap with Your Bank Card 💳
One of the best things about NSW: you can simply tap on and off with your Visa, Mastercard, Amex or your phone/watch (Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay).
Just remember: use the same card/device for your whole trip, or it won’t calculate the fare correctly.

If you’re in Sydney between May and November, you have a great chance to see whales along the coast. Sometimes you can also spot dolphins.
(but remember, it’s nature, so sightings aren’t guaranteed, though very likely!)
